1) the eyes should be bright, clean and never cloudy or sunken.

2) one of the best indicators of freshness are the gills- they should be bright red.

3) clear color of eye, no red.

4) shell must be stick to the fish skin.

5) fish meat must be fresh, if we push it down, it won't damage
